Covid- 19 Time Capsule Project
A team at the Library of Birmingham are trying to gather a digital and physical collection of how people have been spending lockdown so that in “years to come we can all reflect on how we were feeling, what we were doing to cope and of course our hopes for the future.”
Code Your Future
Code Your Future is an NGO and coding school for disadvantaged individuals (including refugees, those living below the local poverty line, ex-offenders and many others).
Marie Curie Bereavement support
Grieving can feel isolating enough without social distancing. Many people bereaved during lockdown have been unable to properly say goodbye to loved ones, comfort or even hug each other. If they can’t get the support they need, they will be more likely to struggle with the long term effects of grief.

The Muath Trust, based at The Bordesley Centre on the Camp Hill roundabout has been at the centre of efforts to support the community in Sparkbrook during the Covid-19 crisis. This work builds on The Muath Trust’s extensive work to support people over 50 in the area.
Volunteering with Balsall Heath Mutual Aid group
Richard has been supporting people in the local community during lockdown by helping to co-ordinate Balsall Heath Mutual Aid group – getting essential items to those in need and answering calls for anyone seeking support. New Powers To Keep Cyclists Safe
On Monday 22nd June 2020 the DEPARTMENT FOR TRANSPORT announced that there will be new legislation introduced which will give the local authority powers to issue a £70 penalty notice specifically relating to the misuse of cycle lanes.

This evening saw a large and peaceful demonstration take place in Balsall Heath in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Wear & Share is a project helping Birmingham individuals and families, who are struggling to obtain essential items, such as clothing, during the lockdown.
