I worked in Clifton School in the 80s. I think today is good because it’s bringing the whole community which is living here. The locals, all age groups are here. A lot of children don’t really see nature and animals and this is a chance. They are feeding them and touching them.
If somebody had told me that one of the highlights of my year was going to be watching a lamb being sheared at Balsall Heath City Farm, I would have asked the barman to serve me whatever they were drinking.
It’s a brilliant opportunity for bringing young people together and old people like me. I’m working with today with a young person with autism who loves music and it’s a really good venue for her.
